Is AppleTV 5 coming? Apple will push new products at WWDC

According to Buzzfeed, a US news aggregator, Apple will release the new Apple TV set-top box Apple TV at the World Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled for June.

It is expected that the new Apple TV set-top boxes will look new from the inside out. The product will use Apple's A8 chip, equipped with an updated operating system, support Siri personal voice assistant functions, and may integrate the Homekit smart home platform. In addition, it is expected that Apple will also launch a new application and game store and provide software development kits.

Apple lowered the price of Apple's TV set-top box to $69 earlier this month, which means that new products should be under development. Apple has also reached a strategic cooperation with HBO to obtain the latter's upcoming streaming media service. Overall, it is expected that Apple will provide a total of 25 channels of content by this fall, such as streaming services from CBS, ABC and Fox.

According to the "Wall Street Journal" report, there are rumors that Apple is in negotiations with Comcast and other Internet service providers, plans to launch Internet TV as a hosting service. If the rumors are true, this means that Apple will put television programs on its own Internet channel, which may make it free from paying data usage fees. The operation of such a channel is independent of other Internet traffic and can also be regarded as an “Internet fast lane”. This contradicts the “Network Neutrality” of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which requires all Internet traffic should be treated equally.
