Hello everyone! I am Li Xiangbang, Regional Director of Greater China Sales and Marketing, Future Lighting Solutions. The topic I am talking to today is the opportunity and practice of high-power LED applications. I will share with you four parts: one is the challenge brought by energy and climate; the other is some successful cases of LUXEON products around the world; It is about the relationship between Philips lumileds and Fuchang Electronics. The fourth is to share some of the more special LED applications.
Energy and climate challenges
Energy consumption has always been a problem faced by every country. High oil prices, high energy consumption and other issues have led every country to invest in products with high energy consumption, including LEDs, which is an opportunity for LEDs.
According to the analysis of traditional lamps in the entire Asia-Pacific region in 2010, China accounted for 32%, just like Japan. If there are about 115.3 billion in the entire Asia-Pacific region, China's 416 is about 42 billion yuan. If LEDs are used instead of traditional light sources, about 7% of the 115 million should be about 70 billion.
In this part of the market, household lamps account for 40%; the second part is industrial use; the third is office use 9%, commercial stores use 7%, the general distribution of the industry is like this.
Nine projects for LUXEON products in different applications around the world
Philips lumileds is the only company in the world that has such technology. The main products of LUXEON products are two types: Rebel and K2. Surface packaging technology and thermal cooling are its outstanding technical advantages.

Special application
For the special application of LED, we currently have four goals: one is the commercial refrigerator lighting scheme; the second is the indoor lighting scheme; the third is the large-scale high-efficiency lighting scheme, including the high ceiling scheme at the train station or some platforms. The fourth is some small lighting and other aspects.

The global refrigerator production is very large, more than several billion US dollars / year, of which 7% are traditional lamps, which are all used with light pipes. The use of LED instead of light pipe can not only save electricity, but also reduce emissions, which has a great effect on carbon dioxide emission reduction.
We have done a long research and found that this effect is very interesting. When the temperature is about 5 degrees, the effect of the traditional light tube is about 65. It can only provide 60% brightness in the normal light tube in the refrigerator. But LEDs can provide 95% at the same temperature. If the LED is placed in the refrigerator, it will not dim when it is spotted, and will maintain a minimum of 95% brightness. The effect of LEDs coming out at low temperatures is in turn better. This is the advantage of LED. In addition, compared with traditional lamps and LEDs, LEDs can provide higher display performance and do not dissipate heat to affect the quality of food. In the United States, we visited 108 users, and 108 customers unwittingly felt that LEDs were better than ordinary light pipes.
LEDs have many relative advantages, and LEDs can achieve 30%-80% energy savings compared to conventional lamps. Looking back at the application of LED, it has only 30 lumens since 2005, and now 90 lumens, it has more than tripled, and next year it may reach 100 lumens - 120 lumens. We can expect LEDs to replace traditional lights and apply them in a wider range of applications.
