Infinity v1 is mainly used to simulate the shooting mode from the aspect of sound and recoil. In addition to the shooting effect of conventional weapons, Infinity v1 can also simulate some hypothetical future weapon special effects, such as the charging effect of electromagnetic weapons.
This is not the first gun-type VR controller, but it is one of the coolest VR accessories ever made.
Unlike the shape of the gun plus the spherical head, it's easy to think that it evolved from the early PlayStation Move.
This kind of appearance makes people really unable to raise interest. The moment of picking up makes people think that it is not the front line with the gun charge, but the fairy fairy with a small magic fairy to represent the moon.
However, Infinity v1 is different. According to the previous DEMO design published by Striker VR, the device may use a transmission rod to simulate the recoil force of the firearm, and it can simulate single-shot, continuous-fire and other forms.
Although limited to the material, the handheld quality may be lighter, but the impact sensing should not be questioned.
Striker VR indicated that it is still using an external locator, but is planning to provide different tracking system support for the device.
For example, two tracking systems, PhaseSpace and Sixense STEM, are now supported, and future systems such as Valve Lighthouse, Oculus Constellation, and PlayStation Move will be added.
Currently Striker VR has not yet planned to launch a consumer version. In its planning year, the Infinity v1 developer kit will be launched. The kit includes haptic guns, SDK tools, and more.
