State Grid PV Plant Low Voltage Ride Through Field Test Platform Completed

On December 21, 2010, China's first set of testing platforms for on-site testing of low-voltage ride-throughs of photovoltaic power plants was completed by the National Energy Research Institute of Solar Power (Experiment) Center. The platform has completely independent intellectual property rights and is currently the most advanced device for on-site testing of low-voltage ride-through performance of photovoltaic power plants.

The low-voltage ride-through test platform is a large-scale test device used to test the low-voltage ride-through capability of photovoltaic power plants. It can be used to field test the uninterrupted grid connection capability of photovoltaic power plants under abnormal grid conditions.

The platform can provide low voltage ride through test service for photovoltaic power stations or unit power generation modules with a rated capacity of no more than 1500 kilowatts, access voltage class of 10 kilovolts, 20 kilovolts, or 35 kilovolts, and can meet the requirements of photovoltaic power stations in the world. The platform adopts advanced modularization and mobile design, and optimizes the overall structure. It is installed in four standard container bodies and can meet the standards of road transport. The container body has functions of anti-vibration, sound insulation, heat insulation, fire prevention, anti-collision, anti-static and anti-electromagnetic interference. The power and signal lines are connected between the cabinets through high and low voltage quick-connect plugs and standard communication interfaces. The installation and disassembly are convenient during the test, which improves the rapidity, reliability, and safety of the test.
