Tesla electric truck re-orders joint parcel booking 125 cars

According to recent reports, Tesla unveiled its Semi electric truck last month, and the response has been overwhelming. Before news broke that PepsiCo had ordered 100 units, United Parcel Service (UPS) had already placed an order for 125 of the latest models, setting a new record for Tesla electric truck orders. UPS is not only the largest customer but also the first to place an order for the Semi. The addition of the Tesla Semi will further enhance their sustainability efforts. The company aims to reduce absolute greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 12% by 2025 through this partnership with Tesla. Tesla is targeting the commercial trucking market with the Semi, offering a vehicle that combines long-range capability, cargo capacity, and competitive pricing compared to traditional diesel trucks. CEO Elon Musk emphasized that the design allows drivers to stand while operating the truck, improving both safety and driver comfort. The Tesla Semi was officially released last month, with production expected to begin in 2019. Despite the positive momentum, Tesla shares dipped slightly by 1% on Tuesday, though the stock has gained over 55% this year.
