What is TD-LTE?

LTE, TIme Division Long Term EvoluTIon, is a global standard developed by the 3GPP organization based on OFDMA technology, including FDD and TDD modes for paired spectrum and unpaired spectrum. LTE-TDD, also known as TD-LTE in China.

As an important opportunity for the transformation period of the communication industry, TD-LTE mainly includes three major features: First, it contains a large number of Chinese patents, which is dominated by China, and has received extensive international support and become an international standard. Second, the Internet speed is fast and can be achieved. Tens of times of TD-SCDMA technology makes ubiquitous high-speed Internet access possible. Third, the industry is developing at a fast pace and is basically synchronized with other international mobile broadband technologies, representing the most advanced level of the mobile communications industry in the world today.

Therefore, in the whole development process of TD-LTE, despite many problems such as immature network, it has provided a lot of support at the national level, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to set up a TD-LTE working group to lead the organization and work. A very famous working method is called 2*2, that is, two network manufacturers combined with two terminal chip manufacturers to do cross-validation, which quickly promoted the consistency of standard understanding and the maturity of the terminal.
