Lenovo's new fiscal quarter net profit of $48.86 million

Reuters reported that Lenovo today announced its fiscal revenue and expenditure report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2011.

As of June 30, Lenovo’s total revenue for the first fiscal quarter was US$5.15 billion , an increase of 49.6% year-on-year; net profit was US$54.86 million , roughly in line with the previous estimate of 57.1 million US dollars by Thompson Reuters. In the same period last year, Lenovo also The net loss was US$16 million; Lenovo’s gross margin for the quarter was 10.2%, down from 10.4% in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year; operating interest rate was 1.58%, which was higher than 1.3% in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year.

China and other emerging markets have become the main driving force for Lenovo’s revenue growth. Lenovo’s revenue in China this quarter increased by 50% to US$2.5 billion, and other emerging market revenues reached US$821 million. Not only in emerging markets, Lenovo’s revenue in mature markets also increased by 39%. % to 1.8 billion US dollars.

In terms of products, notebooks still accounted for the largest proportion of Lenovo's total revenue. Lenovo said that notebook revenue accounted for 61% of its total revenue, and desktop computers accounted for 33%.

Lenovo launched its own-brand mobile phone, Music Phone , in the middle of the quarter. Lenovo said the mobile phone sales are encouraging, but they did not provide specific sales figures.

Liu Chuanzhi, chairman of Lenovo Group's Board of Directors, said that Lenovo has performed well this quarter and they will continue to focus on China and other fast-growing emerging markets.
