In 2010, the number of energy-saving product certifications reached 57, and the number of water-saving product certifications reached 64. The major product certification agencies issued a total of 9222 certificates involving 35,133 product models.
It is estimated that through the implementation of resource conservation product certification, China has saved 40.897 billion kWh of electricity in 2010, equivalent to 14.558 million tons of standard coal, saving 13.968 billion tons of water resources.
In order to give full play to the role of certification and accreditation in building a resource-conserving society, the CNCA has organized relevant certification bodies to establish a quantification system for resource conservation product certification indicators since 2008, and completed statistics and summary of quantitative indicators for resource-saving products. It provides support data for the construction of a resource-saving product certification system.
According to statistics, during the three years from 2008 to 2010, China has accumulatively saved 136.454 billion kWh of electricity through the certification of resource-saving products, equivalent to 48.776 million tons of standard coal, and accumulated savings of 28.188 billion tons of water resources.
In addition, the CNCA continued to increase the development of energy-saving and environmental protection certifications in strategic pillar industries and emerging industries, and carried out certifications for key components such as solar photovoltaic storage batteries and inverters. The National Golden Sun project clearly adopted certification as a market.
