South Korea took steps to develop and implement standardized specifications in March 2009. The fastest-growing country in the promotion of white LED standards for illumination is Japan, which was jointly developed by four groups in Japan in 2004. It has become the only measurement standard for white LEDs used in lighting. In March 2006, the four groups announced the revised version of this standard, adding and revising the original standard content. Currently in Japan, although the government and various industrial associations are also widely discussing the formulation of relevant standards, they have not yet entered the formulation stage and are still under consideration. Following South Korea, China and Taiwan have also started standardization work and it is estimated that they will be implemented as early as 2010. At present, the "Standards Inspection Bureau" of the "Ministry of Economic Affairs" of Taiwan stated that 35 types of LED-related standardization will be carried out in CNS (China National Standars), and 12 of these LED lighting related standards have been reviewed.
