Apple won the touch screen technology patent Samsung or other indictees

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent on touchscreen technology for mobile devices, and Apple may initiate a new round of patent warfare in the field of mobile devices.

The “Personal Computer Magazine” website quoted relevant intellectual property experts in a report as saying that the patent was very broad and actually put the patent for multi-touch interface technology completely under Apple’s control. Since the touch screen has become a common configuration for smart phones, companies such as Samsung, Motorola, and Nokia may be the targets of Apple's lawsuit.

Although Apple has not commented on how to use this new patent, experts believe that Apple may use this patent to prohibit the sale of other mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet computers equipped with touch screens in the US market.

However, experts analyzed that American judges may determine that touch screen technology has become the industry standard, and declared the patent invalid on the grounds of eliminating monopoly on Apple.

In recent years, the lawsuits between smartphone manufacturers on smartphones have continued. Since 2009, Apple and Nokia have been lawsuits on smart phone patents. Nokia announced on the 13th this month that Apple has agreed to pay Nokia patent fees to quell legal disputes between the two companies. In April of this year, Apple sued Samsung for copying the patented design of its mobile products. Samsung then filed a counter-claims in Asia, Europe and the United States, claiming that Apple infringed its own mobile phone patents.
