The toothbrush hair bundle tension testing procedure is an essential step in evaluating the quality and durability of a toothbrush. This test ensures that the bristles remain securely attached under normal usage conditions. Below is a detailed explanation of the process: 1. **Testing Equipment**: A tensile testing machine with a maximum capacity of 100N is used. The brush holder must not be cut off during the test to maintain the integrity of the sample. 2. **Sample Preparation**: For each toothbrush, a single bundle of bristles is left intact, while the rest are removed. The samples are then kept at a controlled temperature of (20 ± 5)°C for 4 hours before testing. 3. **Test Conditions**: The test is conducted at a temperature of (20 ± 5)°C, and the testing machine lifts at a uniform speed of (100 ± 10) mm/min to ensure consistent results. 4. **Testing Procedure**: The brush head is secured in the lower clamp of the testing machine with the bristles facing upward. The bristle clip is connected to the upper clamp, aligned carefully, and clamped to the remaining bundle. The force required to remove the bristles is recorded during the test. The toothbrush tension testing machine manufactured by Shanghai Xiangjie Instrument & Meter Technology Co., Ltd. complies with the national mandatory standard GB19342-2003 "Toothbrush" as well as the company's internal specifications. It tests various critical parameters such as the bristle tension, shank bending resistance, neck bending resistance, monofilament bending recovery rate, and other safety and hygiene requirements for toothbrushes.
