TT Electronics Introduces HPWC (High Pulse Withstand Chip) High-Energy Surge Resistor Series

TT Electronics has introduced the HPWC (High Pulse Withstand Chip) series of high-energy surge resistors, specifically designed to deliver exceptional surge performance in compact, single-sided flat chip configurations. These resistors are ideal for applications requiring reliable protection and discharge capabilities in small power and control circuits, with a 5% resistance tolerance. The HPWC family is available in four standard sizes, ranging from 0805 to 2512. They can withstand surge voltages of up to 6.5kV for 1.2/50μs pulses and peak currents of 3kW for 0.1ms pulses. Built upon TT Electronics' PWC (Pulse-Loaded Chip) technology, the HPWC series uses a precision manufacturing process instead of laser trimming to control resistance values. This approach enhances surge performance while maintaining reliability in a single-sided design. Resistance values range from 1Ω to 100kΩ, with power ratings from 0.25W to 2W.
