Design of Wireless Home Gateway Based on ARM-UClinux

introduction

With the rapid development of network technology and information appliances, more and more families are demanding the establishment of a home network. The home gateway is the core of the entire home network. It mainly implements Internet access, remote control, and the function of connecting heterogeneous subnets within the home. The home gateway based on the PC solution is not only costly, but also requires the computer to be in a state of being powered on and communicating, and it is not possible to run software and hardware that interfere with communication tasks on the computer. Therefore, in order to adapt to ordinary users, the home gateway should be designed based on inexpensive non-PC devices. However, if 8-bit and 16-bit single-chip microcomputers are used, it is difficult to implement the TCP/IP protocol because of the slow speed and limited resources, so it is not ideal.

Therefore, this paper uses ARM core 32-bit embedded microprocessor as the hardware platform, combined with wireless communication technology, through the transplantation of embedded operating system Clinux, and develops corresponding drivers, applications and embedded Web server on it. A convenient and practical home gateway.
