Infotainment and safety functions become the focus of automotive electronics semiconductors
Safety, environmental protection, infotainment, better comfort and convenience are further inspiring innovation in current automotive electronics design. The in-vehicle infotainment system has become a key point for vehicle differentiation. In the next-generation in-vehicle infotainment system, the most striking design trend is that mobile network-based services will penetrate into every corner of the car entertainment system. Another key trend is that the traditional audio and video experience will be improved like never before.
Exhibitor NXP Semiconductors' Vicaro series is a highly integrated video processor that meets automotive specifications. Vicaro internally integrates a high-speed video processing DSP core, which can support two high-definition display screens to display and play various video formats. The company's DiRaNA series can not only support dual high-definition radio reception, it also integrates an advanced sound processor, supports 5.1-channel, multi-channel analog and digital sound processing, and also supports some specific sound processing, such as surround sound, Dolby , BBE, etc.
Exhibitor Freescale Semiconductor's multimedia processor i.MX series is one of the industry's most popular products. The i.MX chip is designed according to strict automotive specifications and can meet the most stringent automotive semiconductor standards. It also provides commercial chips based on the same design standards, and is compatible with automotive chip pins, which can take into account the low-cost needs of customers in the development and other stages. Exhibitor ADI launched multiple SHARC and Blackfin processor products specifically for the automotive market. These processors include specific functions and peripherals such as MOST, CAN and DTCP (Digital Transmission Content Protocol Specification), which can achieve high integration and low total cost.
Exhibitor Texas Instruments (TI) is optimistic about the rapidly growing digital radio broadcasting market. In order to adapt to this trend, TI introduced a corresponding solution. The solution uses a DSP core as a software radio digital baseband, capable of receiving AM, FM, RDS, weather forecast band, HD Radio, DAB, DMB and / or DRM. Compared with the cost of adopting HD Radio and DAB today, it greatly reduces the cost.
In terms of improving car safety, the system developed by exhibitors STMicroelectronics (ST) and Navteq integrates digital roadmap information and positioning data, which can further enhance the safety and convenience of drivers in all vehicles. The Map Positioning Engine (MPE) integrates ST ’s Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and Navteq ’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) road conditions, topography and other attributes such as number of lanes or speed limit. Exhibitors ADI and Infineon are collaborating to develop next-generation automotive airbag systems using MEMS accelerometers.
