A few days ago, a customer brought in a 50-inch PSM TV model 50PC3DUE. The issue was that when the TV was put into standby mode, the relay made a "click" sound but didn't respond properly. Initially, I suspected a problem with the power board and opened the cover for inspection. What I found were several capacitors on the power board that had swollen—specifically, ten 10V/3300µF and five 50V/680µF capacitors. I tested one of them and found it to be faulty, with capacitance ranging from 153 to 345µF. I decided to replace all the suspect capacitors with nine 16V/3300µF and one 63V/680µF capacitor. After replacing them, the standby light came on, and pressing the power button caused the relay to "click," the red light turned green, and then the TV entered protection mode again. At this point, I felt a bit stuck and worried that there might be other damaged components. So, I took the board out and did a thorough visual inspection. During this process, I discovered that one of the two SD20N60 transistors had failed. I used an old board to source a similar transistor and replaced the faulty one. After testing the board continuously for over an hour without any issues, I returned the unit to the customer the same day. I just want to remind everyone that this is a common issue across many LG power boards. It's always good to check capacitors first when dealing with power-related faults. Hope this helps someone avoid the same headache! Thank you all.
