Overview

This device is designed to evaluate the fire resistance and combustion behavior of various types of building insulation materials. Structure and Installation

1. Structure

The device consists of a combustion test chamber, a burner, a test stand, a pressure regulating valve, and other essential components. A liquefied gas (propane) tank is included for fuel supply.

2. Installation

Follow the installation diagram provided. Place the base inside the box and install the fixing sleeve and sample holder as shown. Position the burner in front of the sample. Secure the burner rod by threading it from the outer casing into the burner base. Connect the propane meter to the gas tank, link the pressure regulator to the other end of the propane meter using a plastic tube, and connect the regulator to the burner via a pneumatic tube.

Test Operation

1. Select the appropriate ignition positioner and place it on top of the burner.

2. Insert the sample into the sample holder and secure it in place.

3. Once the burner is close to the sample, lock the ruler on the bottom plate for alignment.

4. Place the aluminum foil collection tray under the test specimen and insert the filter paper into it.

5. Raise the burner, open the pressure regulator, ignite the nozzle using an electronic igniter, adjust the flame length to approximately 20 mm, tilt the burner at 45 degrees, and ignite the sample at the required distance as per the standard procedure.

Precautions

1. Before igniting the burner, adjust the pneumatic pressure regulator first, then gradually adjust the pressure regulator knob. After ignition, you can fine-tune the flame size using the pressure regulator or the pneumatic adjustment valve.

2. Ensure that the liquefied gas tank and the burner are kept at a safe distance before ignition.

3. Make sure that the smoke generated during the test is properly vented outside through the exhaust hood to maintain a safe working environment.
