NVIDIA deep learning to enter China _ help companies train AI talents

NVIDIA recently held the GTC Technology Conference in Beijing, marking a significant step in its expansion into the Chinese market. During the event, the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute (DLI) officially announced its entry into China, collaborating with local companies like Leadtek to offer both online training and instructor-led offline seminars for AI developers, researchers, and data scientists. These hands-on lab courses aim to provide practical experience in deep learning and artificial intelligence. Greg Estes, Vice President of the NVIDIA Developer Program, emphasized the growing importance of AI in the tech landscape, stating, "Artificial intelligence is transforming the technology environment, and deep learning expertise will become a core skill in more and more fields." According to IDC, by 2020, 80% of applications will be AI-related, highlighting the increasing demand for skilled professionals. As part of its expansion, DLI will introduce new courses tailored for the Chinese market. In addition to teaching developers how to use the AI inference platform TensorRT, there will be foundational courses on image classification and object recognition. For data scientists in the financial industry, there will be specialized content on using image recognition to detect cancer cells quickly and accurately. Greg Estes also mentioned that DLI aims to train 20,000 developers in China, making up one-fifth of its global training efforts. Despite being only a year old, DLI has already trained over 20,000 developers worldwide. The institute collaborates with leading tech companies such as AWS, Coursera, Facebook, Google, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, IBM, Microsoft, and Udacity to deliver cutting-edge AI training across major deep learning frameworks. During GTC China, DLI will offer a three-day intensive training program, featuring 10 new in-depth courses specifically designed for Chinese students. Additionally, more than ten offline sessions will cover topics like image classification, neural network deployment, image generation, and genomics. These programs are intended to equip developers, data scientists, and researchers with the practical skills needed to implement deep learning solutions across various industries.
