Quantum Thin Film Sensors Appear Expected VR Usher in a Revolution

Mobile photography has made great strides, but smaller sensors mean more complex processes, especially for smaller products such as IoT devices and VR headsets. QuantumFilm sensors are ready to go on the market and may change the situation.

This technology was developed by Invisage (USA) and may replace CMOS sensors. Quantum thin film sensors have a lighter volume, greater light sensitivity, greater dynamic range, and optimized imaging stability.

Conventional sensors increase the resolution by making the pixels smaller. This means that each pixel is less sensitive to light, reducing image quality. InVisage uses more light-sensitive quantum dots. This film is located above the silicon layer so that the sensor can capture all the light.

Quantum thin film sensors will benefit cameras that use smaller sensors, such as IoT devices, drones, and virtual reality heads. But this technique can optimize all cameras.

However, Xiao Bian is still not sure when (or will) appear in consumer products. Because I don't know whether this technology can be popularized, Xiaobian is looking forward to how this technology can affect virtual reality.
