This marks a significant milestone in Littelfuse’s growing power semiconductor portfolio. In March, the company made a strategic investment in Monolith Semiconductor Inc., a renowned Silicon Carbide Technology Development Company, reinforcing its commitment to becoming a leading player in the power electronics industry.
The LSIC1MO120E0080 series is the first SiC MOSFET developed and produced through this collaboration. Rated at 1200V with ultra-low on-resistance (80mΩ), these devices are optimized for high-frequency switching applications. Their ultra-low switching losses and exceptional speed make them far superior to traditional power transistors, offering improved efficiency and performance in a wide range of industrial and commercial settings.

Compared to traditional silicon-based devices, SiC MOSFETs deliver higher energy efficiency, reduce system size and weight, and increase power density. These advantages are particularly valuable in high-temperature environments, where the devices maintain excellent durability and performance even at 150°C.
The new SiC MOSFETs are ideal for various power conversion systems, including solar inverters, switch-mode power supplies, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), motor drives, high-voltage DC/DC converters, battery chargers, and induction heating systems.
