VISHAY Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has recently introduced its PLTT precision low TCR high-temperature thin film resistors in new package sizes: 0805, 1206, 2010, and 2512. These resistors now offer a wider resistance range, from 250Ω to 3MΩ, with the option for non-standard values, making them ideal for specialized applications.
Designed to operate in extreme environments, the PLTT resistor functions reliably between -55°C and +215°C—nearly 100°C higher than standard thin film resistors. It delivers exceptional performance with a typical TCR of ±5 ppm/°C, tolerances as tight as ±0.02%, noise levels below -35dB, and voltage coefficients as low as 0.1ppm/V. The power rating ranges from 250mW to 1000mW, and it can handle voltages from 100V to 200V.

The PLTT uses a stable film that maintains performance with only 500ppm drift after 2000 hours at +215°C. This makes it perfect for applications requiring low noise and minimal temperature drift, such as drilling operations, high-precision oil and gas exploration, and critical telecom and industrial equipment.
Manufactured on a high-purity ceramic substrate, the PLTT features a gold termination layer ranging from 10μin to 20μin on a nickel gate, ensuring strong adhesion during high-temperature HMP soldering. It also benefits from a special passivation method (SPM) that enhances corrosion resistance. The resistors are RoHS compliant, meeting IEC 61249-2-21 standards, and have a UL 94 V-0 fire rating.
Samples of the enhanced PLTT resistors are currently available, with full-scale production underway. Lead times for standard orders range from ten to twelve weeks, making it an excellent choice for engineers looking for reliable, high-performance components in demanding conditions.
