The chip is based on the basic working principle of HALIOS®: an LED tube emits modulated infrared light, and when the infrared light encounters an object, part of it is reflected back and converted into an electrical signal by the photocell in the system. At the same time, another LED tube emits infrared light with the same amplitude but 180° out of phase. During normal operation, it can be ensured that the phototransistors receive signals of the same phase and have the same amplitude to ensure that the output signal of this part of the circuit is always zero. The greatest feature of the optical system designed using this principle is that it can withstand strong external ambient light interference, and the performance is not affected by changes in temperature and light.

The chip can recognize various gestures such as proximity, flapping, and quick swiping. Through the recognition of these actions, various types of working states can be output. The detection distance can reach 25 cm. The gestures that can be recognized within the effective detection range include: a trigger gesture, an object (such as a hand) entering an effective detection area of ​​the system, a tap gesture, a vertical back and forth movement, simulating a virtual switch action; time selection, Gestures stay for a certain period of time; wipe, slide, swing gestures at a certain speed in the horizontal direction; proximity gestures, slow approach or away from the sensor at a certain speed. In addition, the working states that can be output include: on and off, full or full off of the lamp; dimming, the brightness of the lamp is adjustable from 0% to 100%, and the step length is 0.4%. At the same time, the user is informed by changing the brightness of the luminaire that the system has recognized a certain gesture.

The chip is equipped with HMI human-machine dialogue interface, the chip integrates the most basic gesture recognition and lighting dimming control functions, the user does not need to add an additional microcontroller and complex software work, is a full-featured gesture recognition solution, Suitable for all types of lighting applications, but also can be widely used in a variety of non-contact gesture sensing products such as switching, detecting objects, dimming and so on.
