On August 26, the first batch of over 660 kilograms of fresh vegetables from Zhongke Sanan Plant Factory was delivered to the organizing committee of the "2017 BRICS Xiamen Meeting" from the factory located at the head of Anxi Lake. Throughout the entire meeting, Zhongke Sanan supplied a total of five batches of various agricultural products, including lettuce, cruciferous vegetables, and iced vegetables, amounting to 3.16 tons. The vegetables were used in state banquets and received positive feedback from participants.

A Fully Enclosed Production Environment Ensures Food Safety
Food safety is the top priority in agricultural production, especially when supplying vegetables for leaders and VIPs. The plants are cultivated without soil using nutrient solutions sourced from sand core filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and reverse osmosis (RO) water. All chemical components of the nutrient solution meet food-grade requirements. No pesticides or antibiotics are used during the entire growing cycle. According to SGS, a leading testing organization, no pesticide residues, heavy metals, or pathogenic bacteria were detected in the vegetables, and nitrite levels were significantly lower than those found in field-grown produce. This rigorous approach ensures the highest level of food safety, making Zhongke Sanan's vegetables a trusted choice for official events.
Controlled Environmental Conditions Ensure Stable Supply
The BRICS meeting took place in September, a time when most open-field leafy vegetables are nearing the end of their harvest season. However, Zhongke Sanan uses LED artificial lighting to simulate optimal growing conditions, breaking the constraints of seasonal changes and enabling year-round, stable production.
In the controlled environment of the plant factory, the light spectrum is optimized, nutrients are balanced, and temperature and humidity are carefully maintained. As a result, the vegetables are fresh, tender, and uniformly green. Due to the ideal growing conditions, the growth cycle is cut by half compared to open-field cultivation, and the yield per unit area is 70 to 100 times higher. During the BRICS meeting, the factory supplied 0.6 tons of fresh leafy vegetables daily, which accounted for just one-third of its 3,000-square-meter facility's capacity. This reliable supply chain played a key role in ensuring the quality and availability of the vegetables for the event.
Multilateral Inspections Ensure Quality and Trust
Through extensive certifications, multiple rounds of audits, and comprehensive inspection reports, Zhongke Sanan's five varieties of vegetables — elegant, green butterfly, Boston, Baimeiren, and iced vegetables — were selected as special agricultural products for the 2017 BRICS meeting. A special contract was signed between the two parties.
To ensure the success of the Xiamen meeting, Zhongke Sanan formed a dedicated project team consisting of R&D, production, and sales professionals. They managed every aspect of the special products, from production and testing to transportation and coordination. Daily monitoring was intensified, with technicians checking and recording the production process hourly to maintain quality. It became one of the featured dishes served at the state banquet.
